We have some great cars coming and I hope that we can be back up there fighting for the title.” He then went on to name two particular teams he hopes will join Mercedes in this fight for the championship: McLaren and Alpine.
McLaren are fresh off their first win since 2012 – their first as a works team since 1998 – courtesy of Lando Norris at Imola last year, while Alpine (formerly Renault) finished fourth in 2022 after several seasons as midfielders.
